The Shriners Children's Open
Las Vegas's PGA Tour event is the Shriners Children's Open, played at TPC Summerlin, a private course in the Summerlin suburb about 20 to 30 minutes west of the Strip. It falls in the autumn portion of the Tour schedule, typically in October, and has a long history of low scoring and big names early in their careers. For spectators it is one of the most relaxed Tour stops: as of 2026 daily grounds tickets run from around $30 to $60, weekly passes and hospitality tiers cost more, and children are often admitted free with an adult. Parking and shuttles are organized from lots near the course. The 16th and 17th holes and the closing stretch are the best places to camp, and the weather in October is close to perfect. It pairs well with a Strip trip because the mornings are early and the evenings free.
Shadow Creek: the bucket-list round
Shadow Creek, in North Las Vegas, is the most exclusive tee time in the city. Built for Steve Wynn and now owned by MGM Resorts, it is a lush, tree-lined course dropped into the desert, has hosted a PGA Tour event and high-profile televised matches and is consistently ranked among the best in the country. Access is limited to guests of MGM Resorts properties on certain days, and as of 2026 a round costs in the region of $1,000 or more, including a caddie and limousine transfer from your resort; check with your MGM hotel concierge for current rules and availability.
It is a splurge, and for a serious golfer it is one of the great Las Vegas experiences. Book well ahead, particularly for the cooler months when demand peaks.
Wynn Golf Club: a course on the Strip
Wynn Golf Club is the only course on the Strip itself, an 18-hole Tom Fazio layout behind Wynn and Encore with the resort towers as the backdrop and a waterfall on the finishing hole. It closed for a period and was rebuilt and reopened, and as of 2026 green fees are in the high hundreds per player, with caddies included and priority for Wynn and Encore guests; check the resort site for current fees and guest requirements. TPC Las Vegas, Bali Hai and the public courses
For excellent golf at more approachable prices, Las Vegas has a strong set of public and resort courses within 30 minutes of the Strip.
- TPC Las Vegas in Summerlin is the public sibling of TPC Summerlin, a dramatic desert layout with canyon holes; as of 2026 fees run from around $150 to $300 depending on season and time.
- Bali Hai Golf Club is at the south end of the Strip next to Mandalay Bay, a tropical-themed course with Strip views and a convenient location; expect fees from roughly $200 to $350 in peak season.
- Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort, about 30 minutes north, has three Pete Dye courses and is a favorite for value.
- Rio Secco, Cascata and Reflection Bay are the upscale resort courses in Henderson and Lake Las Vegas, each in the few-hundred range.
- Municipal and value courses such as Las Vegas National, the historic course near the Strip, run well under $100 at many times.

Topgolf and golf without a course
Topgolf Las Vegas, behind MGM Grand, is a four-level driving range with 100-plus climate-controlled hitting bays, bars, restaurants, pools and a concert stage, and it is one of the most popular group activities on the Strip. As of 2026 a bay costs from around $50 to $100 per hour depending on time and level, split among up to six players, with a modest membership fee on top; walk-ins are possible but weekends and evenings need a reservation. It is a good fit for mixed groups of golfers and non-golfers and for bachelor and bachelorette parties; see the group itinerary.
Indoor simulators are available at several resorts and stand-alone lounges, and Atomic Golf near the Strat offers a similar multi-level range experience on the north Strip.
When to play and how the heat matters
The golf calendar runs opposite to the pool calendar. October through April is prime golf season with mild, dry days and the highest green fees; March and April and October and November are ideal. Summer is brutally hot but green fees fall by half or more, and locals play at dawn: a 6am tee time in July is finished before the real heat. Winter mornings can be near freezing with frost delays, but the afternoons are pleasant.

Stay-and-play packages and planning
Several resorts bundle rooms with golf. MGM Resorts properties are the route to Shadow Creek and offer packages at their other courses; Wynn and Encore guests get priority at Wynn Golf Club; Lake Las Vegas and Henderson resorts sell golf-inclusive stays that are cheaper than the Strip and closer to the Henderson courses; and Summerlin's Red Rock Resort is the natural base for the TPC courses and the Shriners week. Third-party golf-travel companies package multiple courses with a Strip hotel and transfers, which is efficient if you plan to play three or more rounds.
